On April 30th, 1812 Louisiana became the 18th state to enter the union of United States. The fatality rate for construction workers in the private construction industry was 12 per hundred thousand (100,000) workers in 2004 which is fourth highest among all the industry sectors while the average for all industries is 4.1.
